Alpha

The Alpha course is an introduction to Christianity which has been adapted to be as effective as possible in a variety of settings and contexts, and the different environments.

A typical session includes a meal to encourage relationship and community, a talk addressing a specific issue on the Christian faith and a small group discussion to help course guests talk through issues raised. Small groups are lead by experienced and trained volunteers who do not consider any question too simple or too hostile.

The talks in the course, which can be delivered by a trained course leader or watched on DVD, commence with an introductory talk entitled Is There More to Life than This? Subsequent talks consider topics including Jesus, prayer, the Bible and healing. Three talks on the Holy Spirit are typically given over a weekend which enables course guests to build friendships and trust. Questions of Life, the book on which the Alpha course is based, has sold over one million copies worldwide.

The William Wilberforce Trust  

The William Wilberforce Trust works for the transformation of society and the restoration of community in London.  Comprising a number of social action projects, the William Wilberforce Trust exists to provide practical support and defend the rights of those affected by debt, addiction, homelessness, unemployment, trafficking, sexual exploitation, depression, isolation and vulnerability. We meet with, support and empower people irrespective of their position or background, knowing that each individual has unique potential. Worship Central

Worship Central is a school of worship from Alpha International, led by Tim Hughes & Al Gordon. Our vision is to encounter God, equip the worshipper and empower the local church.

Since launching in 2006, tens of thousands of people have attended training events on three continents, and hundreds of thousands have visited this website for practical resources.

SPTC

St Paul’s Theological Centre (SPTC) aims to be a new kind of theological institution, dedicated to play a part in restoring theology to the heart of the church. Its unique quality is the combination of excellence in theology and teaching within the context of a vibrant local church, rather than a university, residential college or diocese. God at Work

The God at Work course is designed for Christians of all denominations whatever stage they are at in there walk with God. Whether its post Alpha or long standing Christians, this course has something to offer everyone.

The material is relevant to everyone, in the sense that we all ‘work’ in one way or another, whether we are currently employed or whether we plan to work in the future. The course is aimed at: 

• Those in paid employment
• Those working in the voluntary sector
• Those who work but are not paid (eg, stay-at-home parents)
• Those who are between jobs
• Those currently not working, but who hope to work in the future (eg, students)

Guests attend the God at Work course for a variety of different reasons. For some it has been recommended by a friend, whereas others may be particularly interested in one of the discussion topics, Work-Life balance for example or possibly how to make tough decisions. Others may be looking for a career change and some may just be wondering how to apply their new found faith to their current working life. The God at Work course is also a great way to meet other Christians and build support and prayer networks within companies or maybe just build relationships with new friends.
