UK Awareness of Alpha

25% of the UK population are aware of Alpha as a Christian Course (Ipsos MORI, October 2011). 

Of the approximate 12.7 million* people aware of Alpha, 3 out of 10 expressed some level of interest in the course (Ipsos MORI, October 2011).

The spread of Alpha

9,970 Alpha courses are running in the UK and more than 60,000 courses are running worldwide in 169 countries and 112 languages.

The total number of people who have been on an Alpha course in the UK since 1993 is aproximately 3.08 million (Christian Research, 2011). 

Aproximately 18 million people worldwide have attended an Alpha course (Christian Research, 2011).

About 175,000 attended the Alpha Course in 2011 (Christian Research, 2011).

In 2011, the average number of people per course was 21 (Christian Research, 2011). 

The average age of non-churchgoers in 2011 the Alpha Course was 37 (Christian Research, 2011).

An average of 29 people per church attended services or a mid-week group regularly at least once a month because of Alpha (Christian Research, 2011).
